One of My Favorite Poems

*Every once in a while I get inspired by a poem. This is one of the poems which caught my attention. It made me think twice about how I'm living my life...;-)
KUNG ANG TAO AY ISINILANG UPANG MAGING TAO LAMANG
Emelita Perez Baes (1978)

Kung ang tao'y isinilang
upang maging tao lamang...
na lilipad-lipad sa lawak ng kalangitan;
O nanaisin ko pang ako'y naging isang bulaklak
na maaring pitasin sa mabangong halaman;
O kaya'y naging isang punong may malagong
mga daho't sangang malalabay;
napag-aanihan ng ginintuang palay;
Sapagkat sa pagiging ibon, bulaklak, puno o kalabaw
ay nakatitiyak akong may halaga ang aking buhay;
Na ako ay may kabuluhan!
Tulad ng isang taong isinilang
upang magpakatao at di maging tao lamang!

Name Poems

One may wonder why I have a couple of name poems here. Well, this has been a requirement for my English classes in high school. We were to write a poem using each letters of our name to begin a line. I didn't have that much trouble since my name is quite short. I found it as a way to have a more personal connection to my poem. Not only because it bears my name but rather because it bears my personality based on the letters of my name. Share with me a name poem if you may...;-)

My Poem..:-)

Aspirations of my Tender Years
A - Aspirations arouses my days
N - Not thinking of the passing moment that plays
D - Drowning I maybe in this worldly fantasy
R - Remembering every moment as a sheer ecstasy
E - Enclosed is my heart to these dreams that someday could be reality
A - As my reality is pure simplicity

B - Beloved to me are these magical moments
A - A treasure I will never forsake against all torments
G - Gestures of my everyday life could be the deliverance of my fate
S - Someday it could happen, someday in whatever time, in whatever date
I - I live for reality and for my passion
T - Time passes by so quickly and soon my dreams would be old fashion

U - Until that time would come, I'll live my life cradled with my dreams
Y - Yes! The end would come and my dreams I will cherish as old as it may seem

Aking Tula..:-)

Paglisan, Pagtakas

Just an Introduction

There is one way to get to know a person better and that is through his writings. I admire different kinds of literature may it be prose or poetry. I am particularly fond of those literary pieces that give me a preview of the person who wrote it. But don't hesitate to share with me your thoughts, I am willing to see those for myself. I am as psychologist would put it, orally aggressive, in plain English a critic. Don't expect me to feed you flattering words but I wouldn't shower you with taunts either. Feel free to comment on my work and I shall comment on yours. Let me know who you are deep inside that familiar cover you call 'you'.
